National Forensic Sciences University (erstwhile Gujarat Forensic Sciences University) was established by the Government of India through Act, 2020 (32 of 2020) on 1st October 2020 and also accorded the status of an “Institution of National Importance”. Established under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, the objective of NFSU is to promote forensic science in conjunction with applied behavioural science, law, criminology, and other allied areas and technologies. Through its full flagged campus at Gandhinagar, Delhi, Goa, Tripura, Bhopal and academies at Pune, Guwahati, and Manipur, NFSU is producing skilled human resources for the different domains of forensic investigation and promoting research and innovation. University is also providing consultancies and imparting training to different stakeholders of the criminal justice delivery system thus improving forensic capabilities globally. Being as world’s first and only forensic university, NFSU is serving India and helping other countries through its unique courses, state-of-the-art infrastructures, and several Centres of Excellence

The School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics is running UG programme B.Tech.- MTech Five Year integrated course in Cyber Security, Four PG Programs (Msc (CS), Msc (Digital Forensics), M.Tech (CS), M.Tech (AI & Robotics)), Four PG Diploma courses. The School is also offering Ph.D. programme. Aiming at enhancing the nation’s cybersecurity and digital crime investigation capabilities, the NFSU has also established Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security – Cyber Defense Centre. The first-ever ISO/IEC 27001 Certified Laboratory in India with the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) Accreditation. It has also received recent designation as the Examiner of Electronic Evidence under Section 79A of the IT Act 2000 by the Government of India.

The 1st International conference on Information Security, Privacy and Digital Forensics (ICISPD 2022) was organized on 2-3 December 2022 at NFSU Goa Campus. The conference was structured as plenary and keynote speeches followed by parallel sessions. The keynote speeches were delivered by eminent personalities at the international level invited to introduce the theme of the conference. Papers were invited from the prospective authors from industries, academic institutions, R&D organizations and from professional engineers belonging to the engineering disciplines. The proceedings of conference is published in with Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” series ( https://www.springer.com/series/7818). LNEE series is indexed by EI Compendex and Scopus databases .
